Compared with manned vehicles with long development cycles and high costs, military UAVs have the advantages of strong battlefield adaptability, low costs, flexible allocation and diversified missions. 1) Strong adaptability on the battlefield. Because UAVs are not limited by human factors, they can better accomplish their missions and achieve the goal of "zero casualties" in extremely harsh battlefield environments, such as nuclear, biological and chemical threats, long endurance, and high-risk battlefields. Since UAVs do not require the presence of a pilot, they have great flexibility in structural design and a wide variety of structures based on aerodynamics. At the same time, its relatively small size makes it easy to adopt various stealth measures to improve radar, infrared and visual protection. At the same time, the takeoff/landing methods of UAVs are diverse, and they can be launched and recovered in various ways (including air launch/air recovery), except for super-large/large UAVs, with little reliance on field airfields. 2) Low cost, high cost ratio. The most expensive Global Hawk UAV is currently less expensive than the F16 and F22, mainly due to the reduction of various life support systems in the UAV. The second is the low cost of training/maintenance/usage, with the controller of the UAV requiring as little as 48 hours of training to perform the mission. The high efficiency to cost ratio is reflected in the fact that UAVs are now capable of performing a large number of tasks that manned aircraft can perform, and the low cost advantage allows for a high level of UAV specialization, avoiding the increased costs associated with multi-purpose use. 3) Flexible allocation and mission diversification. Due to the comprehensive advantages of UAVs in size, use and maintenance, they are quite flexible in the battlefield, and all kinds of existing platforms can support good UAV use after simple modifications. Miniature UAVs and even complete systems can be deployed on the backs of soldiers. This makes it easy for tactical units to obtain UAV support. At the same time, all types of existing UAS are designed in a platform-based and modular way, and each mission module can be flexibly adjusted according to the actual situation to give full play to the advantages of the platform.
