As an important carrier of new technologies and advanced productivity, drones have become an important element of the development of new aviation industry. In recent years, China's independent development capability in the field of civil UAVs has been improving, the industry scale has been growing, and it has gained obvious advantages in the international arena. In order to continuously strengthen the development of China's civil UAVs and enhance the modernization of China's UAV industry chain supply chain, this paper puts forward several suggestions to promote the development of China's civil UAV industry based on the analysis of the current situation and core issues of the UAV industry development, as well as the trend outlook of the future UAV industry development, in the hope of providing reference to promote the industry development.
I. The current situation of China's civil drone industry development
At the global level, China's civil drone industry is far ahead of the rest. 2021, although the uncertainties in the global industry chain supply chain and international trade environment have increased, the production and operation activities of civil drone enterprises have been negatively affected by a substantial improvement compared with 2020, and the scale of the global civil drone industry has rebounded substantially, reaching $11.77 billion in 2021, a 25.2% year-on-year increase. growth of 25.2%. Among them, the scale of China's drone industry is the leading level in the world, and the output value of China's civil drone industry accounts for 81.5% of the global share. The U.S. and Europe follow with a 9% and 6.1% share. China has become a major manufacturing country for civilian drones worldwide with its product diversity, design leadership and price advantage.
In terms of domestic distribution, the scale advantage of the civil drone industry in the central and southern regions remains obvious. 2021, the scale of China's drone industry reached 65.2 billion yuan, with a scale growth rate of 22.8%. Six provinces (regions), including Guangdong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi and Hainan, have been the main site of China's civil drone industry development. 2021, the industry scale of the six provinces (regions) reached 49 billion yuan, accounting for 75% of the national proportion. In recent years, the relevant provinces and cities in East China and North China have been paying more and more attention to the development of the drone industry, and the proportion has increased year by year, and the industry scale will reach 10% and 9% respectively in 2021.
In terms of application scenarios, the industrial drone industry in China accounts for 60% of the total, and in 2021, the industrial drone industry in China will reach RMB 40 billion, accounting for 61% of the national civilian drone industry. In the field of consumer-grade drones, typical products such as aerial drones are highly favored, and the scale of China's consumer-grade drone industry reaches 25.3 billion yuan in 2021, accounting for 39%. As the application scenarios of civil drones continue to deepen, the depth and breadth of application of industrial-grade drones in security monitoring, emergency protection, energy inspection, agriculture and forestry plant protection and other application scenarios continue to improve, and the market outlook is worth looking forward to.
From the perspective of leading enterprises, China's leading civil UAV enterprises have obvious competitive advantages. China has formed a number of key enterprises. According to the revenue scale of enterprises in 2021, China accounts for 5 seats in the TOP 10 global drone companies. In addition, in 2021, China's civil drone field investment and financing enthusiasm will continue, and many potential companies are favored by capital, with Zongheng and AVIC UAV successfully listed in 2021 and 2022.
